How do I get to Mermaid Fest?

Kingsland Point Park will be closed to visitor parking on July 19th. There is limited parking in the area (no street parking in Philipse Manor near the north entrance, limited parking on the streets of Edge-on-Hudson near the south entrance), so we recommend using public transportation, ridesharing, riding bikes, or walking when possible.

Here’s how to find your way to the Mermaid Festival:

TRAIN

TAKING METRO-NORTH

Philipse Manor stop: The Sleepy Hollow Mermaid Festival is located in Kingsland Point Park, which is 5-minute walk from Philipse Manor Station.

Tarrytown stop: Nearby Tarrytown Station is about a 1.5 mile, 30-minute walk along the Hudson River (mostly flat terrain). There will be two small shuttle buses (ADA accessible) running from Tarrytown to Edge on Hudson’s traffic circle starting at 11:30 am (they will fill up quickly). From there, it’s a short walk to  Kingsland Point Park. Wait for the shuttle at the bus pickup spot near the Bakehouse. The last shuttle will leave for Tarrytown at 4:30 pm. Taxis are also available at Tarrytown Station (cash only).

Park and Ride is an option! Free parking is available at nearby Irvington Station and Ossining Station. Drive to either station and take the Metro North to Philipse Manor Station.

Check the MTA schedule for train times.

TAXI / RIDESHARE

To catch a taxi, call Jimmy’s Taxi Service: 914-924-5074

For ride sharing, a. convenient dropoff point is near the Philipse Manor Train at the corner of Palmer Ave. right before Riverside Drive.

DRI VING / PARKING

If you are driving in, please know that parking is limited and some distance from the festival. We recommend carpooling, ridesharing, or parking at a nearby town’s Metro North Station and taking the train or a car service to Philipse Manor.

More parking is available off-site in the following local locations:

Tarrytown Metro North Station lot: there are over 1,000 parking spots in this metered lot. Read signs outside the main lot carefully to make sure they are not marked for resident sticker parking. From the station, it is about 1.5 mile walk to the festival (about 30-40 minutes on flat terrain, depending on where you park). Two complimentary, ADA accessible shuttle buses will run continuous service starting at 11:30AM  from Tarrytown train station (limited capacity).

Additional Parking Lots:

The lot at 38 Hudson View Way in Tarrytown will be open and is about a 15 min walk to the festival.

Festival drop off-point: no vehicles will be permitted inside Kingsland Point Park during the festival (12pm-4pm). To avoid traffic, please plan to drop off passengers at the corner of Palmer Ave. right before Riverside Drive.

Metered Parking:

· The Village of Tarrytown uses the PayByPhone app

· The Village of Sleepy Hollow uses the ParkMobile app

ACCESSIBILITY / ADA ACCESSIBLE PARKING:

From Tarrytown Station: Tarrytown Station has ADA-accessible parking spots (Philipse Manor has limited ADA parking).

From the Philipse Manor North Entrance: At the entrance of Kingsland Point Park, people with mobility needs may access a complimentary golf cart shuttle into the festival.

Once inside: Kingsland Point Park is mostly flat, but watch out for fallen acorns and tree roots around the park!
