ART & ACTI VITIES
Most activities at the Sleepy Hollow Mermaid Festival are free, but some activities including the bounce houses, dunk tank, face painting, and hair styling have a fee to take part. All proceeds help to support the artists bringing the activities to the event.
Costume Contest
Register to walk in the parade to take part of this year’s Mermaid Festival costume contest! Prizes will be given to the best individual costume, group costume, and kid’s costume.

Riverkeeper’s Great Fish Migration Game
You are a migratory fish species of the Hudson River estuary, on a heroic journey to your ancestral spawning grounds to lay eggs. Can you make it there and back without wiping out your population? The estuary is filled with fishy threats... But there are helpers, too, who want you to thrive. Biodiversity is a roll of the dice in this table-sized board game from Riverkeeper!

Fish Wishing Well
What does a fish sound like? Explore the mysterious underwater soundscape of the Hudson with Rhiannon Catalyst of Catalyst Culture Labs. Hear real fish calls, learn how scientists record them, and send your own message of hope and care to accompany them home!
Fishing for Compliments
Catch and release! Art installation created by Melissa Lohman-Wild and fish made by kids of Tarrytown Arts Camp.
Bouncehouses
Let your kids shake off their sea legs and bounce till their warm-blooded hearts desire in bouncehouses courtesy of the Village of Sleepy Hollow! A special bracelet must be purchased at the event for your kids to enjoy this activity. (Cash only)
Dunk Tank
This is the closest we could get to having someone walk the plank! Support The Foundation for the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns with your best shot at dunking some surprise guests.
Field Games
For all the leggy land lubbers, J Sports Academy courtesy of the Shames JCC will bring field games and a gaga ball pit for kids and adults alike to enjoy.
