How do I get to Mermaid Fest?
Kingsland Point Park will be closed to visitor parking on Saturday, July 18th. Please be aware that there is no onsite parking, and area parking is both limited and a walk to the festivities. We recommend ridesharing, taking the train, parking at a nearby town’s Metro North Station and taking the train to Philipse Manor, riding bikes, or walking when possible.
Here’s how to find your way to the Mermaid Festival:
TRAIN
TAKING METRO-NORTH
Philipse Manor stop: The Sleepy Hollow Mermaid Festival is located in Kingsland Point Park, which is 5-minute walk from Philipse Manor Station.
Tarrytown stop: Nearby Tarrytown Station is about a 1.5 mile, 30-minute walk along the Hudson River (mostly flat terrain). There will be two small shuttle buses (ADA accessible) running from Tarrytown to Edge on Hudson’s traffic circle starting at 11:30 am (they will fill up quickly). From there, it’s a short walk to Kingsland Point Park. Wait for the shuttle at the bus pickup spot near the Bakehouse. The last shuttle will leave for Tarrytown at 4:30 pm. Taxis are also available at Tarrytown Station (cash only).
Park and Ride is an option! Free parking is available at nearby Irvington Station and Ossining Station. Drive to either station and take the Metro North to Philipse Manor Station.
Check the MTA SCHEDULE for train times.
FERRY TO THE TRAIN
If you’re coming from Rockland to the Mermaid Festival you can take the ferry to the train!
Park in the NY Waterway ferry lot on Dr. Girling Drive, Haverstaw.
Hop on the ferry for a 15 minute ride to Ossining. Walk 1 block to the Metro North Ossining Station and take it 2 stops to the Philipse Manor Station which will leave you right by Kingsland Point Park. It’s a 10 minute walk to the Mermaid Festival located inside the park.
